fabia door strips

Featured Replies

i want to take myn off spray em and put em back on again, what would be ideal to stick em back on?

I wouldn't take them off to spray them, they'd be a nightmare to put back on as they bend an mis-shape. I just binned mine.

Wooo Old thread!! Removed my bumpstrips at the weekend, enrolled the girlfriend to help take off the glue with some brake cleaner, she did a good job too! Just heated them up and peeled them off, and a little elbow grease to take off the glue, was done in about an hour.

 i thought that'd be enough to damage the paintwork!

Naa it's all good, just be careful and not to go crazy with spraying it on, and wipe it all off. Took the glue off easily and the paint not faded or worn so it did the trick. I was more worried of over-heating it and the paint peeling off or running.

I bought a new set from skoda, think it was

brake & clutch cleaner is as strong as I would apply to paintwork, and should be OK in small doses. I tend to favour intensive tar remover for this kind of job.

My door strips also went in the dustbin.

yeah i used a tar and glue spray and wipe i have, its a bit industrial but is safe on paintwork and take off everything with no effort.
