New MkIV Fabia Combi for 2022?

Featured Replies

Unless my google translate is playing up, there are some reports on Eastern European websites that Skoda have reversed the decision to not make a new combi version for the MkIV.

Apparently Czech and Slovak customers have been in panic mode about the demise of the wagon and placing so many forward orders  that it was becoming a problem in Skoda's plans to phase it out.

Because they are only starting the development now it will be phased in a year or so after the hatchback becomes available.

I too am not that keen on replacing mine with a Kamiq or Scala.

These replacements were going to be much more expensive, but with smaller trunks, and all with extra weight that would be cutting into the 1.0 TSi's performance.

Bravo Eastern European Wagoneers! Long live the Small Practical Wagon!

Hopefully Skoda Australia keep it on the books.

I actually think there is still some life left in the current Fabia and it’s estate brother - a tidy-up of the styling at the rear in particular plus the updated multimedia tech and a heated windscreen option would be enough for me to buy it without second thought.

I wonder what the current estate sales figures are like - There really is not a direct competitor to it now so surely (and from the above, clearly) there’s enough of a niche market to keep making them.

In terms of small cheap estates it's either the fabia or the dacia Logan and , my god, the logan is ugly.

Yes, and unlike the Fabia, the Logan cannot credibly be considered as a long-distance mile muncher like the Fabia can be - Too agricultural / unrefined.

Good for short - medium distance work though if you're on a budget and simply must have brand new!

I'm not sure my fabia is that refined but after driving for 2 1/2 hours I still have feeling in my arse and my legs are functional.

That's enough comfort for me 😛
