SD Card, Music and images...

Featured Replies

Hi Guys - just got myself a Karoq and so I'm playing around with stuff! The issue I have is with the SD card. I managed to drop some Radio Station logos on to it and update the radio, so I know the card works, but then I put some images on it and some music, and I get none of my images found (all small PNG files under 4 megapixels in size) and when trying to access the music I get 'SD Card Unsupported' message.

Any ideas? Is there a preferred format for the SD card that I need to do? Quite frustrating because there's not much for me to go by.

One thought - anyone just got a sample image they can share here that they know works, so I can drop it on and test?

Thanks!

Are the missing images the ones associated with your MP3 files as they need to be embedded to each file? They also need to be less than 500 x 500 px IIRC. (Sanse MP3 Art Sizer will sort that)

No - the images aren't related to the music - I wanted to use these with the 'Images' viewer in the Infotainment system.

I have the images at the top level of the SD card and two albums on it too, one with MP3 and the other with M4A; these are in their own directories with the music at the top level within those directories.

I have tried both FAT32 and ExFAT formats and get the same issue. For music: 'Source not supported'...

I've heard of other Apple people having problems so I'll defer to their greater knowledge. ;)

I have music playing off my SD card but I had to do this to get it to work:-

• Delete all data on a 32GB or 64GB SD card, format card to MS-DOS (FAT 32). Name the card UNTITLED.

• Launch the free Mac app “CleanMyDrive2” (or another similar app) to remove Mac-specific invisible files from

   the SD card.

My music files on the card are in folders named by the artist (Beatles, Beach Boys, etc) and then subfolders in there of the albums (Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, etc). To get songs to play in the right order you have to number the songs 01 xxxxx, 02 xxxxxx. 03 xxxxx, etc.
