kph-mph

Featured Replies

can the digital display of speed on the dash be changed from kph to mph this model only has the small number display   on a 66 plate

Yes with special equipment that some members have, do a search this question has been asked and answered hundreds of times.

The digital mph will be just as innacurate as the dial though. When it indicates 70 you will only be going about 65.

By law, the speedo can't under-estimate your speed because if this it will always over-read by a little bit.  Brand new tyres can have around 8mm of tread and you can legally drive on 1.6mm so the wheel will rotate faster with an worn tyre.  If you had a speed that was 100% bang on your actual speed, what level of tread would you calibrate it too?

^ indeed - I imagine tyre pressure changes would have a noticeable effect too.....

I used a Carista OBD2 adapter from Amazon to give me the digital speedo and needle sweep etc. It gives a months access to customise then cancel and you still have a very good OBD2 adapter It also adds a tick box in the Maxidot to go to KPH if you need it.

You type the subject you are looking for in the "Search" box on the top right of the page.

I know Llanigraham ... I was generally asking if anyone knew how to use the search function as this question keeps getting asked ... suggesting in this case the OP didn't know how to use the function, or couldn't be bothered!

🙂
