Space Saver for Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just joined the forum.

I had my second puncture yesterday where i had to rely on roadside assistance to take me to a tyre place.

My car doesnt come with any sort of spare so was wondering if i could obtain a space saver. Issue is when looking on the internet i can't find anything that will fit. My tyres are 205/40/17

Does anyone know if anything will fit my car and if so what i can use?

Thanks in advance

Yeah i have had a look they are all 14 or 15 inch. Would that work given i have a 17 inch tyre normally.

Forgive my ignorance

I have a genuine Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo alloy which is brand new never been on the road but it has a 215/40R17 tyre fitted because we had it as a spare in the boot of our 2015 Rapid Spaceback but it has been sitting in my garage for 2 years now. The finish is Gunmetal Grey and the wheel and tyre cost me over £300 but yours for £100 if your interested. Would drive a reasonable distance if you are not too far away from the Midlands.

@kamikaze_worm  Welcome to the forum.

The Saving Space Steel wheel & tyre,  not a Space Saver that comes with a Mk2 vRS Fabia is 195/55 R 15 to fit instead of a 205/40 R 17.

(in the pic with the green car that is a 185/60 R 15)

Best go with a 205/40 R 17 tyre / spare and that goes in the spare tyre well.

Or

@shyVRS245 's 215/40 R 17 will be a little bigger in the same way as the Skoda spare is a little small.

Depending on your 205/40 R 17 tyres and the one he has on there might be very little difference.

Sorry for the delay not charged my phone for 3 days and it died after I took first photo. I could drive down to services near Milton Keynes if that helps.

Ah its 205 not 215 so probably no go but thanks for your efforts!

No problem my thinking was that if one of your tyres was worn you could fit a 215 tyre to it and mount them on the rear which improve the stance slightly and a cheaper option than the alternative.

Stuff the stance,

a pair of 215's on the front and good 205's on the rear are perfect and improve the grip and handling.
