Help, faulty electrics

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my car please?
Bought my car as used (one previous owner) - 4 years ago. A year into having it, boot door 'loom' went and had to be repaired. Since then I'm aware of door loom issues on this model. Nothing electric happened again until last year when my drivers door lost door buttons illumination, but could still use central locking and window up and down. Then both heated side morrissons stopped 'heating up'. Windscreen stopped heating up and now I lost power in my daytime running lights. Bulbs are fine, fittings fine, but no power. Any idea what might be going on?

Have you tested the relevant fuse(s)? Don't just examine but try a new or known one as they can look ok. If the switch operates the windows, it is most likely the LED bulbs in the switch. Perhaps they have got all grubby so don't shine though or have failed or contacts are filthy. Might be worth swapping the switch for a new one. Bay do cheap ones, as do ali express but make sure they have the Skoda green light, not the VW red as they'll look odd!
