Where to look for used vrs

Featured Replies

I'm constantly trawling through autotrader, ebay and fb marketplace.

I've used motors.co.uk also and have spent time on Evan's halshaw and arnold Clark generic websites trying to search for 3 year old petrol vrs's.

Are there any more places to go to for searching for used cars? I've spent some time also on local skoda dealer and franchise sites. I almost feel I'm missing a  obvious source...apart from the classifieds on here 😬

I'm not sure there are any more places to look that will give you better results. There are sites like exchange and mart, but I found that if somewhere is advertising on one site they are generally on most of them. Autotrader was the best when I was looking in Jan and Feb.

Mods please remove this post, I misread the op

I used Autotrader and also the Skoda UK website.

As I was looking to buy a 1-2 year model, I was focusing on main dealers as the balance of the warranty was never going to be under any dispute.

Why not say what car / spec you're looking for - someone here may know of such a car currently on sale.

I've found several cars on Pistonheads! It's pretty good - there are currently 403 Octy Vrs's for sale on there. Good luck and let us know how you get on 👍

Thank you.  Disappointingly there are far Less vrs versions, there are 401 Octavias lol even though you click on vrs as a searchable version 🙄.

Will add it to my list of places to keep visiting

I found mine on autotrader and only looked at dealer adverts. I wouldnt buy from a private seller as you have no warranty or cover fron the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if anything goes wrong with it.

It took me 4 months to find a car I wanted as I wanted the winter pack in race blue. I saw plenty on red and silver cars but only a handful on race blue cars. So it can be frustrating and many hours wasted spent searching.

@Cranmasterflash

I assume you only want to buy 1 car and not a fleet.

?

What do you want in a car you might buy.

Top price you will pay?

Most miles you will accept?

How far you will travel from home to get one, and what is your area?

?

What are must haves, colour and optional extras on the car?

Been looking for the last six months, more so I could build a picture of values and what options seem popular,

i wanted winter pack, petrol DSG est. either Red or Blue, under 25k miles, for under £17k.

Ended up getting one from a dealer 120miles away, and hopefully collect it Saturday, would of liked the 19" wheels but settled for standard, but may upgrade in the future.

Did most of my searching on Autotrader and Skoda uk.

When you do find one act quickly.

I've got about 16k. Ideally looking for fl 245 but would have a 230 or pfl 230 if the car felt right. Under 40k if poss. Meteor grey, black, white, red in that order. Manual or dsg, quite fancy a DSG due to my driving now. Ideally estate but happy with hatch if right options .Must have heated seats. Prefer 19s and black pack styling. Happy to travel anywhere tbh. Probably draw the line at northern Scotland. I live in stourbridge, west Midlands.

I have seen quite a steady flow of new examples pop.up and as ppl have said, the good ones go quick also.

Ive set up alerts on autotrader too. I'm at the search the hell out of it for a few weeks stage at the moment.  Waiting on the outcome of my current cars plight with car and then subsequent sale so I want to be able to hit the ground and literally buy one almost straight away. Will look and test as many as I can over the next week or two whilst I have a courtesy car for transport so that I can just greenlight the right one immediately

Why not order the new mk 4 VRS. There will be plenty of deals and if you have 16k. You could put down a good deposit which would bring down the monthly payments.

An wanted advert in BRISKODA can be an idea.

Maybe someone has a car at 3 years old that they are not wanting to pay off a lump sum  and already have an idea of what that would cost them.

Or someone knows where a car they have returned recently is now up for sale at.

Cars will be appearing around now that were pre-reg just over 3 years ago or were March 2017 First Reg lease / fleet cars.

I don't wish to have to pay a lump sum after monthly payments. Once I've had the 3 or 4 years payments that's it. I dont want another couple of years financing the lump.
