Did they just replace the mech? Was it brand new or reconditioned? and what did they say was the issue in the first place?

 

The chances are you never needed to shell out £1500 and your original mech and your issue could have been repaired. Get a diagnostic tool plugged in as if its the fault codes showing as "P17BF".....Then its repairable a hell of a lot cheaper albeit a bit of a daunting job if a garage or yourself haven't attempted it before.
