L and K IV colour change

Featured Replies

Hi everyone...new on here.

My 2016 Pasatt estate is coming round for replacement and have on order a L and K IV estate in Quartz grey metallic. Order went through on 28th February but I'm now having doubts about my choice of colour. I decided in a bit of a rush and now thick moon white might be better!!! Has anyone managed to get an order changed without effecting delivery times. Also anyone got a recent delivery time for the hybrid, could do with mine by end of May but can extend VW lease by a month if neccesary.

You need to contact your dealer and ask if the car has a build week, If No then the order can be altered.

Disclaimer.  I think

As above; depends on stage/status of your order.  Since it's only been two weeks then you might find yours is still in something like status 10, which means the factory have received/acknowledged the order and allocated a provisional build week.   I've made changes in the past to both colour and options, all done via the dealer. Your dealer should be able to check the status code themselves and then if it's not 'locked' then they can contact the factory directly and request a change.

E.g;

00 = Without Production Week
10 = With Production Week
20 = With Production Order
30 = In Transit From Factory
36 = In Port of Exit not Released
38 = In Port of Exit Released
39 = Vehicle Shipped
40 = UK Port
60 = In Transit to Dealer
70 = At Dealer

I think Status 20 is no build week, Status 10 confirmed Build week and I think Status 5 car completed ( or something along those lines )

OK thanks for the replies... Dealer has told me he would let me know when they get a build week so best make my mind up sharpish.

I updated my post.  I had the build week codes from my dealer in an email from a few years ago...found them and added to my post.

If you like to spend your time cleaning the paint work, it may be a good idea...

Note: I have a moon white one! ;) But I've signe the purchase order once it was already on the assembly line.. I did not chose the color...

I had a white car once . . . . . . . .

Never again.  They look good clean but take a lot of effort to keep them clean.

I had mine (Metallic Black) professionally ceramic coated from new...and it still needs careful looking after to look good.

`Silver` is the way to go if you don't like car cleaning.

Yes I agree, I had a silver Mazda 6 before 2 white cars. Silver probably easiest to keep looking good but I find washing a white car you get a good result without too much effort as water marks and streaks don't show up.

I think the moon white works well on the sportline, however on other models with chrome trim not so well...

The quartz grey is nice and u wish that was the colour I ordered rather than business grey.
