Seat belt problem

Featured Replies

I have a problem in that the seatbelt warning light keeps coming on and beeping even if the seat belt is properly locked in to the lock

If you wiggle it or pull it very very tight it goes off so I'm thinking loose connection.

Would it be easier to just replace the holder or could it be the connection under the seat? Unlikely to be this though I think.

Has anyone else had this problem as it is very annoying.

Skoda mechanic at Garlands just put the belt into the holder and said it was fine. That ****ed me off a bit as I had asked for it to be changed not checked.

Also are there any very good Skoda specialists near to Aldershot as Garlands took three weeks before they could fix my mothers window problem on her Octavia. Not good when the window is stuck down and in the middle of winter. Basically despite the obvious need for urgency the guy on the end of the phone didn't give a f..k.

So I need to find another garage

All help is appreciated

It's not unheard of, usually mine does it if I've a bulky work coat on or I move such as to put pressure at a certain angle on the buckle.

It's a worn/faulty switch in the clasp.  Perhaps fixable or just unplug the underseat wire.

Same here with the bulky coat or moving about. Does my bloody head in lol.

I can either have it changed or just unplug it. Depends how much it will cost.

Cheers for the reply squire. Appreciated

As MicMac says.........just unplug it under the seat.

You don't need a Skoda specialist to repair your mothers car. Just find a good garage that you can (hopefully) trust to do the job.

If her issue is still there and you want to help her, assuming her car has electric windows and the motor still works (so window just 'stuck down' as you say) if you ease the window up with your hands whilst operating the 'up' button, it can free it off if you are lucky.

I had this issue on my Audi rear window. Had to pull it up probably a few times. It worked properly most of the time though, just occasionally got stuck. I did silicone spray the rubbers.

With a window stuck by friction say, in the rails, you can override the "finger in the gap" protection by holding the up button on the drivers door on raise for more than about ten seconds on the second consecutive attempt to raise the glass. Full power is then used to raise the glass.
