Water ingress 2013 fabia.

Featured Replies

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out with this.

I have water getting into the car in on the driver's side. It is clean water probably rain.

The passenger side is bone dry, the area by the pedals is also dry as is the sides going up to the doors, I can see a pipe in front of the rear seats on the driver's side but don't know what it is for, could it be something other than blockages under the scuttle panel as I am waiting to borrow some pullers in order to remove the wiper arms to check for this, there is also water collecting in the spare wheel well.

Thank you in advance.

First places to check for wet drivers footwell is the door speaker is still sealed and not letting water in from there. (common on older vag cars) also check the drainage points on the bottom of the door to make sure they aren't blocked with dirt.

The water in the spare wheel well is caused by a faulty air vent behind the bumper below the tail lights. Common issue and plenty of threads on here on how to fix it.

Thank you for your suggestions,

I will check the door drainage and sort the vent deals when we get a dry day.

Following the suggestions given I have checked and made sure that the door drain holes are clear and removed the wheel arch liner and found it to be all clear behind.

On Thursday I am able to borrow the wiper puller and will check for blockages.

Hopefully it will soon be sorted and the floor is drying out well via running Aircon during commuting.
