Audible Alert when using indicators if someone is your Blind Spot

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm new to the Skoda world and loving my MY19 RS245 with all the bells and whistles.

Has anybody out there been able to turn on an audible alert under the following conditions.

1. A car is currently in your Blind Spot which is highlighted on the side mirror as a visual alert.

2. Using the indicator to change lane in the direction of the car in the Blind Spot

I previously owned a Mazda 3 Astina which did exactly this and saved me on a few occasions.

I have recently purchased an OBDeleven v2 pro which I'm still learning about.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers

Steve

I have also come from mazda 3 and skoda dosent have this... its very stupid but it is what it is... 😞

Look over your shoulder? That's saved me every single time, because I've never had a car with any sort of automatic "blind spot" checking, yet somehow I've never driven into anyone.

Looking over my shoulder is exactly what I do, partially helps with the blind spot. The audible alert is an adjunct to the poor visual alert on the mirror when the indicator is used.

After having both visual and audio alerts on the Mazda, you do get used to it.

Yes I can live without it, but nice if it is at all possible to activate, hence the post.

Thanks Ricardo, yes that is an option.

But would love for someone to say yes it is or isn't possible to have an audible alert when you use your indicators when someone is in your blind spot.

I would rather the audible alert than after market stickons.

It’s not possible afaik, there is no warning buzzer on the circuit and no option in the menu to turn it off so I can’t see it being doable unless you wire it yourself but that would be very complex as the car doesn’t (from the diagrams I have seen) support it.

Thanks Sasha,

Leaving it the way it is, is the sensible move.

Might start some yoga classes to achieve greater neck flexibility and coverage 🙂

Thanks guys, no further comments required.
