Skoda DX Satnav; Dash cluster display not showing navigation directions

Hi all,

Having a play with the original Skoda Auto Entertainment Satnav and Instrument Cluster, but I receive an error when trying to display directions on the dash. I get the message ‘Navigation is not available’.

I have the traffic unit above the glovebox and the wire going from that to the radio.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue and how to fix it.

This is all factory on my VRS. Also scanned on VCDS and no error codes show. The unit is also set to ‘03407’.

Thanks

I'm still trying to get the SkodaAuto Entertainment Satnav MFD1 to display navigation directions & radio info on the instrument cluster. However, I get the message 'Navigation is not available'.

Cluster Part No: 1U0 920 941 C

SatNav/Radio Part No: 1U0 919 887 B (B is correct CAN version. I've performed a gateway reset via VCDS)
TMC: 1J0 919 894

Side note: (Skoda DX Type A, Skoda Symphony CD Type C, etc. CAN-bus radios or navi are not supported. So my theory that the SK A model is only the 3 wire system. A index is only one which can communicate by 3 wire)

Are there any wizards that are able to help with this? I've spent hours looking through posts on here and on the MK4 Golf Forums but to no avail...

The only thing I can think of is to find a VW 'G' version to see if it communicates. But I'm led to believe that the Skoda 'B' is the same and should work.

Well after a lot of research and asking questions on forums and spending 6+ hours, I finally found out that I need - 3B0 919 894 A (Works With Steering Wheel Controls or MFD/Maxidot Display) - Info found on Octavia-VRS.com

Our/my Skoda unit 1J0 919 894 will not display the top half of the screen (radio/track and navigation), despite being coded 03407. So I managed to buy a working unit on eBay for £25 which was removed from a Skoda Superb B5.

If this doesn't work, I'll just give up...

I said the A at the end of the p/no was significant and that's why I bought one, not that it cured the problem on my Octy 😞

I know, I was trying to find the ‘A’ version of mine ‘1J0 919 894’ and realised it doesn’t exist, well not what I could find... I then came across the other Skoda/VW version which begins with 3B0 instead, so I’ve ordered the 3B0 919 894 A version now.

Makes me think whether our Octavia’s ever came with the second display option?
