To cut a long story short, I've had a knocking noise for a while now from the underside of the engine and on inspection it seems to be my coolant pipe that's loose ad hitting my downpipe, I've tie wrapped it, wrapped It in rubber and yet I still get the knocking noise however the noise is particularly worse when I'm reversing. It seems The noise gets worse as the car finds the biting point and the odd occasion ill hear the noise when going down the gears ie slowing for a roundabout or steep hill.Myself and 3 mechanics have looked at this and each time I've been told its the intercooler pipe but not amount of tying up solved it.

 

I currently have a decat and I believe & hope the retaining bar was removed when my cat was removed and hasn't fell off but ive looked into the circled part below and it could be the answer to the knocking:

The above part bolts onto the intercooler pipe so I'm hoping that's my issues.

 

 

My only other issues/worry is that it could be a gearbox mount as I can literally feel the knocking thorough my pedals when in revers and it sounds and feels lits coming from under the diver side cab or behind the pedals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thoughts? and If anyone has they're fabia up on ramps could grab a quick pictures of this bracket?

Is it not more likely to be something like the rear engine mounting / support??

 

Would you really feel that intercooler pipe through the pedals???

I’ll hopefully get a look at the weekend as I also suspect it’s the dog mount/bush that’s gone. I was reading back on old posts that the diesal Fabia powerflex was a decent upgrade?

 

Cheers for the parts numbers, I’ll hopefully be able to get a hold of parts in this current pandemic.
