New radio, Octavia estate 2011, 1.6 TDI

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all,

I am seking a New radio for my, Octavia estate 2011, 1.6 TDI.

I am looking one with sat nav and Bluetooth features but am finding it very hard to source online.

Can you help?

Cheers

Willy

You don’t need Satnav’s anymore. Go for a Apple car play or android head unit and you’ll get the nav via your phone. Much cheaper systems then. My choice was Kenwood double DIN unit. Very happy.

Theres a few options, as Stevo_m says, you could go for a kenwood or other aftermarket unit, or you can go for OEM spec like an amundsen+ or columbus unit from skodas of a higher spec.

I bought thiis one for £84 and really pleased with it, had problems with a similar unit at twice the price on my previous Octavia 2, I could live with it once I knew what was causing it to crash, - multi-tasking so would only use the satnav when needed & not have it auto-booting, no radio etc with satnav.

This one was half the price and no problems, can run all fucntions simultaneously and I am very pleased with it.

As stevo said. Ive had a few different headunits over the years and i have learned to go with main brands such as kenwood or pioneer. Personally i prefer the later.

If you have a smartphone then you will get the nav through the headunit- pioneer uses appradio, and you can then use the 'waze' app through that. Completely free with spotify integration too.

I would suggest getting a radio with features specific to your smarthphone if you go that route, i.e if you have an iphone get a radio with appleplay.
