Ran a scan on my Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0Tdi to do a service regeneration on it. Worked up to a point but that is another question for another day.

Before I could run the scan VCDS came up with update 20.4.0 which downloaded no problem and installed correctly.

However in a later scan it  has come up with a fault date as: 2047.04.09 which given that Ross Tech is a US Company would give a date of 9th April 2047.

Anybody have any ideas about the date / time logged in the ECU?

Yeah 9th April 2047 is the date we will be allowed to go to a pub for a pint according to Google.

Perfectly normal on this generation of car.

 

The only module that might know the date is a headunit with GPS, other modules will frequently give mad dates for fault codes. The mileage is generally a better way to decide if a fault is current.
