Heating issues

Recommended Posts

Advice please.

Started with losing heat inside so took the measures of changing  the thermostat, heater matrix and for some reason the passenger side is warm now but no were near as hot as the driver side.

Plugged in vcds and came up with this a don't no if this will help or shed some light on the situation but any advice will be much appreciated thanks.

What is strange is that both temperature flaps for each side are indicating fully open but as you can see the temperatures are a bit apart (might be one stuck or might need re-calibrating) Did you make sure the vents on each side were fully open to make the airflow as equal as it could be?

What you haven't got on there is the actual cabin temperatures that the control system would be trying to control to.

Have you tried putting it back to single zone so its just controlling off one temperature, put it on Auto, and see what it does then?

a have tried calibration a few times to no avail.

the cabin temperatures a could try and get tomorrow ?.

a did put both on 1 setting as in auto but it turned the direction functions off a mean were the heat flows to { windscreen , feet } so a didn't think that was working for what a was trying to achieve

thanks will try that tomorrow

a just don't understand how when both sides are set to HI the drivers side is spot on a mean really hot and the passenger side is hot but not as hot as driver side .

If lets say the passenger side heat exchanger flap isn't opening fully obviously that would cause this situation am only asking because when a looked up into the footwell tube were the sensor the circuit board hangs down the flap was hitting the circuit board and only going up half way as in not fully opening but a don't no if this is right or wrong .

all this has stemmed from removing the heater matrix as i had to remove the little motor off to get it out .

CONCLUSION

so took car for a drive to get the temp up to running temp then switched heating on.

AUTO was on 22degrees on both sides and everything is spot on the heat coming from the foot well is the same on both sides.

Don't no whats happened but it's all good.

The reason a took it for a drive was sitting idling took for ever to get car  up to temperature so driving it was faster a don't no about anyone else but mine seems to take for ever to warm up.

God no's how it fixed it self but am not complaining

Thanks very much appreciate your replys.

A did what you said leave it on AUTO and let it go and it seem to work a didn't try turning it off or change the settings or anything just in case it stopped so am just going to leave it alone thanks.
