Carista?

Featured Replies

What can be changed with Carista?

Just hunted it out after having used it on my Leon, and emailed Carista for beta access, which they surprisingly agreed to again.

2017 Octavia 1.4tsi SE Sport DSG estate for reference, cheers. 👍

there's a sticky at the top of the forum named "adaptations", that should cover it. Maybe. Depends how good Carista is and whether it allows long coding. Facelift is different, though, so you may need to go digging.

Mine's a 66 plate so it's a pre-facelift, and Carista doesn't support long coding unfortunately.

I'll send them my debug data and go through the options, thanks for the reply.

If Carista doesn't do long coding it ain't gonna be a lotta good TBH,  IIRC you buy apps to do certain changes but, have no way of backing up the standard settings 1st or of rolling back the app if it bricks your car up.

Gotta ask how much the car is worth & how much a proper long code read/writer is

@SashaGrace you know Fn everything about coding, whats your advice ?

They've got a back up from my debug data, that's why they won't set up my beta access until I send it through to them.

Just about to plug it in now, then I can see what can be done, not interested in massively changing anything, just bleep on lock/unlock, etc.

Yeah, yeah, we all said that even @SashaGrace & her mods threads is now 70 odd pages

I have no idea when it comes to Carista and it’s capabilities. I would recommend OBDEleven with the PRO pack as that can make long coding changes, that’s what you need to be able to do to get the safest result. There is a sticky on here and details on the Mk3 vRS owners club website of long coding instructions.

To be fair, Carista did the basics for me on my Cupra, hopefully it will do the same on the Octavia, as I won't be splashing out on another device.

I only used Carista for a week last time to get the car how I wanted, and I was just curious if I could do similar this time around, thanks for the replies.

YMMV, but I have Carista and it's always done what I wanted reliably. Touch wood never messed anything up.
