Brera spotted out and about...

Featured Replies

Spotted at a roundabout and then later same day passed me going in the opposite direction, looks great, really low and wide, helped that it was in black, making all the shiny chrome badges and wheels really stand out, looks beautiful in the flesh, definitely better than the GT, which I'm not a big fan of. The Brera looks a lot more aggressive, lovely...

The Brera is really amazing.. JC tested the 159 and said that the build uality is amazing and this also goes for the brera coz it shares almost everythin with the 159...

Had a good look round one in the local dealer last week and thought it was gorgeous. However, im afraid its definitely a no for me as there is no way its anything but a 2 seater. Its got even less legroom in the back than a Mini - i.e. the back of the front seat touches the front of the back seat if you the driver is anything other than a midget :( Guess its really an alternative to a 2 seater sports car / coupe raher than normal hatches.

wait till you feel the running costs! bloody alfas, never again. had a 51-plate 147 from new and it cost a frightening amount to service, let alone the lead pig depreciation. wouldn't touch one with a barge pole now...

Good job you said, I'm thinking about changing the Octy for something 2nd hand that would be cheaper to insure/run, was thinking Alfa might be a decent choice, I shall look elsewhere!

Brera looks stunning. It just seems to have really poor performance on paper(for a 'sports car')

Alfas aren't any worse than any other make (barring the japs) for reliability, depreciation is certainly no worse than any Skoda which are all worth next to f*ck all as soon as you've driven them off the fourcourt!

Alfas are a such fantastic cars to own, they get into your blood, theres nothing else on the road that even comes close to driver enjoyment, let alone the stunning looks that only Alfa can produce.

Alfa got themselves a bad image in the 70's for cars that rusted quicker than they went, it really wasn't that many models that were affected (GTV, AlfaSud, 33 & early 75's) but as with Skoda's a bad name sticks.

They moved heaven and earth in the 80's to rectify the reputation, the later Alfa 75's, the 164's and follwing models 156 etc, were hugely over-engineered to counter any rust/reliability issues, the only problems some of the earlier cars had were dodgy electrics, these were sorted out on later vehicles though, and the Alfas you can buy now are infact very well made.

I challenge anyone to get in a new 159 and tell me its any worse than a BMW or Mercedes - you wont!! and it looks a hell of a lot more stylish too!!

Your sooo sooo right.. everything u said is just true.. the joy of driving an alfa or being in one is totally different.. all cars break down.. u cant find a perfect car..

The new Alfa romeo cars are really great and they're alot better than BMW, Merc and Audi and the 159 proved that in every test drive.. its a bit heavy but still performs very well...my friend owns a 2.0 Alfa 147 and he never paid anything on repairing it.. its very fast and the handling is great and interior is sweet..

Alfa romeos are about Passion..
