Estate boot light & tailgate lights not working

Featured Replies

To anyone that can help.

The bootlight and the 2 x led lights in the bootlid do not come on when boot opens.

The bootlight which doubles as a torch works as the torch, but the led’s which operate when it’s mounted for the boot do not come on.

i have looked in the assignment for fuses and can’t find any that refer specifically to these feeds.  Can someone please offer any advice to narrow down my selection, as at the moment I am going to have to check all of them through seeing if any other features of the car aren’t working.

thanks in advance

I would check the connector and wiring on the boot light base. (where the torch fits). Then, I would check the switch / sensor on the door, that triggers that enables the light to be ON.

Will do thanks Bap33, the reason I suspected fuses as when I opened the boot the lights did come on but seemed to almost flash a little and then go off - all together at same time.

i was also using a low current battery (trickle) charger through the boot 12v outlet.  I have checked and this is still working.  Have used previously many times with no issues.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this, I have the same issue.

Previous owner, or maybe dealer, had cut the wire a few inches from the latch microswitch.
