Fabia Mk3 Estate Monte Carlo

Im currently searching around for a ŠKODA Fabia Estate having owned a Greenline back in 2014, in hindsight best car I ever had and only really swapped because wanted something a little more appealing inside.

I have been drawn to the Monte Carlo and have seen some registered late 2018 with less than 10k mileage 95bhp version for £11.5k. However for a 2019 version with slightly less mileage it’s around £12.5k.  Ideally wanted a pano roof which I thought was standard on Monte Carlo but been told it’s now an optional extra.

My intention is PCP and part ex my Mercedes. I’m just torn between which I should for, is approx a year newer worth an extra £1k and would it be worth it when part ex three years down the line?

Another question if I may, I will

have a child seat in back and an 11yr old too, do the sport my seats in Monte Carlo make this a problem?

Appreciate any views and opinions and this is my first post!

I've got a 2016 MC 1.2 Tsi 110 DSG version (4 cylinder). These are just my personal views.

It's got the panoramic roof, but although it looks good, I'm far from impressed and it would not be on my list of extras. It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. And my wife finds the overhead reflections through the roof onto the shiny carbon fibre finish dash trim a distraction.

The car gives a very harsh ride with its wide FAT ultra low profile tyres and lowered suspension: in return it has great handling, better than the vRS version IMO. So you need to consider how your family will like riding with that suspension.

The rear seats are fine with kiddy seats and have the correct ISO fittings as standard. The interior is funky which I really like. It's economical returning me 45+ on a long run and in the upper 30s on local short journeys.

What it doesn't have is somewhere specific for your phone/Satnav, although there is a slot down behind the gear selector where you can store your mobile, you cannot see it to use as a Satnav. I overcame that problem by finding a magnetic phone holder that I stuck onto the smooth carbon fibre finish dash trim next to the display. It strongly supports either my mobile or an 8" tablet for navigation, so must have strong magnets!

The Tsi engine provides surprisingly good performance for its size, especially if you select Sports mode. Insurance is cheap and service costs are moderate.

Thanks for the view, also looked at the SEL version but as you say kind of like the more interesting look of the MC trim.

As I said loved my ŠKODA Fabia Greenline back in the day so pretty sure I am going to like the current version. Just don’t know whether to pay a little more for a 19 plate or save a grand or two and get the 18 plate.

Give it a few more weeks of very limited sales due to lack of footfall due to the current restrictions and you wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect a decent discount on any car for sale downside of obviously your px will suffer similar depreciation
