Towing mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Is anyone else having difficulty sourcing towing mirrors that will fit the Karoq mirrors satisfactorily? I found the ones which I used on both my Yeti, and Ford CMax before it will not fit the Karoq. They clip to the mirror shell and the Karoq one is too thick.

These are the ones I got from eBay, as I wanted ones  that you could leave the base on and only remove the mirror when not towing. The quality is decent enough, but due to the shape of the karoq mirror they are difficult to make steady.

If anyone has any suggestions,I would be very grateful.

Hi ,  I use milenco grand aero mirrors on my Karoq  when towing with no problems.

Thanks William. It's Milenco Aero mirrors that I had for the Cmax and Yeti, but the clamps won't fit the mirror shell of the Karoq.  I see the ones you have look much more substantial. I'll get them sent for but I don't imagine we'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Is that what they're using in this article?

Emuk make a specific towing mirror for the Karoq and kodiaq ,if you have deep pockets

That's the problem I have. There's nothing wrong with the Milenco mirrors I have. They are the same as those but the brackets don't have wide enough jaws for the Karoq. You would think that they would have mirrors as part of the Towing pack to go along with the excellent retractable tow bar.  Either that, or make sure the  mirrors can accept most of the after market  extension mirrors. I have to say I'm a little annoyed at Skoda. The mirrors on the Karoq are a triumph of design over function IMHO! It's about the only part of the car I'm not impressed with.

The Emuk model specific ones don’t use the clamp system they fit around the mirror , As in the picture ,can’t find a picture of the Karoq, I had a listing for the Karoq ones but can’t find it

You're doing something wrong?

The Millenco Aero and Millenco Grand Aero mirrors fit the Karoq and Kodiaq just fine.

With the F pads they fit perfectly.

I've looked at the modern incarnation of the MIlenco aero, and you're right, they would fit, but the clamps on my old ones are different. They don't open so wide and they're not articulated, so have to be fitted to a straight part of the mirror shell. As I said, I wanted ones that you could leave the mount fitted to the mirror and just remove the extension mirrors when not towing. Looks like I might just have to revert to the Milenco aero or grand aero.

Sorry, I hadn't realised Millenco had changed the clamps at some point in the past.

The latest clamps are really easy to mount, tighten, slacken and remove, I reckon each side probably takes me 30 seconds to mount.

I guess it depends how often you're moving from site to site and are out and about in the car without the caravan in between.

Yes, I found those, but it's almost as much to buy 4 of those as it is to buy the complete set. I don't imagine we'll be going anywhere anytime soon anyway!
