Are you able to open the door from the outside? If so the inner cable may have come detached from the holder. Happened to me a few times when not paying attention when putting the door card back together.

Thanks, but it's locked and no method of trying to open it is working at all.

The only way then is to try to pull the door card off from the inside. It can be done, but you may damage the door card but, if you’re careful it’ll be minimal damage. Report back when you can access the inside of the door.

Thanks, will try when the new patch mechanism comes.

measured brute force to get the door card off and pull via the ends of the door pocket to get the bottom off first. after removing the screws visible.

but first..

then,

I gaurantee once you are in, the short cable to the outer pull handle is either slack or too tight. it's really sensitive the correct tension on the threads on outside. happened me after changing a rear door lock mech. it was grand for a couple of days then locked again.

try pressing in a little bit on the body work around the outer door lock. if the cable is too tight, the pressure will slacken it smidge and it should then open if you pull the handle.
