Maxidot enable CC in EEPROM

Featured Replies

Hi Colleagues,

I've recently upgraded IC in my Octavia II 1.6 MPI to maxidot.

Originally I had 1Z0 920 812F, now I have 1Z0 920 841B

Cruise Control is working, however there is no option to turn it on in IC.

So I can use it, but can't see when it is active nor what is the setup speed.

I can edit eeprom, but no clue which byte.

Than you in advance!

You may get more replies if you can avoid abbreviations.

If IC means instrument cluster, the cruise control is normally controlled by the left stalk  - on, off, increase and reduce set speed, resume set speed etc. Presumably you have such  controls from your previous set up?

As far as I know, there is no display of set speed; you just drive at the speed you want then press set (or resume if you want the speed you previously set)

When cruise control is active there should be green symbol lit up on the display.

Perhaps someone will be along to help with editing the EEPROM.

Sorry for using abbreviations.

I was thinking if I should use abbreviations or full names.

As I was searching for similar topics on forum, most commonly were uses abbreviations so I decided to follow.

Cruise Control is working fine - as you described.

However no symbol is lit up, and there should be a cruising speed on display - instead of total mileage.

Hope I can activate it in EEPROM.

On my MK2 pref/L Octavia (sorry for abbreviations) with Maxidot there was no speed display nor any indication that cruise control was engaged which made for some interesting times when slowing down for junctions using engine braking not realising that the CC had been re-engaged.

It was a standard factory set up so I dont think that you are lacking anything.

On my 2010 FL Octy Scout when activating cruise control via the rocker switch on the end of the right hand stalk the green symbol as indicated at the bottom on the attached image would display (IIRC) on the upper central  instrument  display on the dash.

It never indicated the set speed,  just whether CC had been activated or not; it lit up green when active,  and didn't show anything when off or deactivated.

Thanks for information!

No I'll not see the speed, but in my case there is no LED activated. Hope I can change it in EEPROM. Or I'll buy another Instruments Cluster that will have this functionality.

There is no LED to illuminate on my 2006 model, I doubt that there will be on your 2007, I presume it was brought in with the facelift model.
