Retro Fitting Ambient Lighting

Featured Replies

I have a 2017 Superb Hatchback. It is currently leased via work but I am going to buy it at the end of June rather than lease another. The car does all that I need, it has never had a fault, it ticks the boxes. Anyway, after 3 years it would be good to have a little fun and freshen it up for the next few years. My car currently has the standard white led footwell lights but it does not have the ambient option. Is that something that is simple to retrofit? I'm not handy myself so it either has to be very simple or not too expensive.

I’m afraid I can’t be of much help, but I would assume it’s quite an involved process. Mine comes with the ambient lighting fitted and all of the panels have the led strip built in meaning you’d need to replace door and dash panels before looking at the wiring/coding. Would be tricky I imagine.

As I said, I may be wrong and someone may have already done this. Good luck with it either way.

It's gonna be expensive...

It’s neither simple or inexpensive.

Fair enough folks, thanks for the replies.

You can change the  LED's and have a different colour, that is easy to do. I did it in my company car so I had blue light rather than white

I purchased an LED footwell pack from Amazon, cheap as chips and easy to install. Far from OEM but has a nice effect at night.
