Hi,

I have recently bought a 2011 Octavia VRs and I love it. However, I have one small problem. The back rest of the driver’s seat will decline but won’t incline. I took it to my friendly local garage who took off the plastic knob followed by the part that’s shown in the photo. He put pliers on the spline that’s left and hey presto, the seat works fine. This suggests that the problem is with the thing that’s shown in the photo. It appears that this winds the back rest up and down but stops it going back down again when you lean on it.

The guy in the garage called his parts supplier who stated that the part can’t be bought separately and only comes as part of the seat frame which is just over £300.

Has anyone else had similar problems or does anyone know how to fix the issue without buying a whole new seat frame?

I read that before when I was looking for the height mechanism. Thought it was only available with the whole seat frame. I managed to get just the mechanism separately from the dealer so worth checking around to see if you can get that bit separately.

 

At least you can set it correctly for yourself, and just leave it there until you get it replaced................if you have to have it adjustable.

 

Otherwise just set and forget.......
