Odd fault with air con

Featured Replies

Hi. I’ve got a 2012 Octavia Mk2 Connect SE.

Air con stopped working a few weeks back. Full on cold setting (all the way left) produced no cold air at all. Got a guy out to regas it but he said the system was pretty full anyway.

Driving today I discover that having the dial at the “9 o clock” position produces really cold air. So it’s like the control knob is somehow out of position.

Before I buy a new part, does anyone know if I was to set this at its coldest setting currently (9 o clock) then remove the unit, move the dial to full cold (where it should be) and put the unit back in if this would sort the issue?

Has anyone heard this happen before? I’ve had the car since new.

Hi. So I tried and it hasn’t worked. Possibly looking at a replacement heating control panel.

Part is 3TO 820 047AF

Loads of 3TO 820 047 s on eBay but ending with a different pair of letters. I’m not sure how relevant the last two letters are. Is it important or just a batch number? The parts look the same.

If it is a climatronic version it may be worth letting the controller relearn the position of the actuators and do an automatic reset if they are wrong.

The two or three buttons to press to initiate this is depends on the year and model but there are plenty of videos on line that show how to do it.

The AF version is newer than an S.

Thanks. It’s not the climatronic version.

Part on order so I’ll swap the old controls out and hope that’s all that’s needed.

Thanks. Seems I was searching on 3TO rather than 3T0.

Fortunately though got the right part in the right price range.
