Morning all. Could anyone tell me if std  length droplinks are still fine to use on -30mm shocks/springs? It's a 1.4 tdi if that makes any difference.

Thanks. This cad appears to have been parked in a harbour previously. Chassis is fine but suspension components are rotten. Both hub slime bolts rounded and one currently seized in the hub, both torx recess in the track rod ends have rounded too. Looks like the TRE's will have to be cut off and replaced, about to try some heat on the hub bolt.

 

Where can I get new hub bolts from anyone know?

Hub pinch bolt is part number N 90954801

Nut if required: N 10106402

 

Available from Skoda/VW/SEAT dealer or maybe ebay. Example...

Just cut the nuts off the track rod ends and use a track rod end seperator.

Thanks very much, ordered the bolts. Ball joints are split but nuts still on and torx rounded so I'll just cut and replace. Awaiting blow torch to get remaining pinch bolt out. Love it when things go to plan!

I've tried various places for drop links. Usual life around here is two years ,and that 's from Carparts4less.

It's Meyle HD all the way for me. Better than any others I've had in the past.

This place is tank trap alley. No equalisation of tank traps (aka speed humps). And the original warning markings on the humps has worn off. A town and a county councillor did tell me that a survey was in progress , with a view to repaint the warnings. To me it's a policy of cost vs life of item. I get an advisory on an MOT and change before next. (or SIL changes them ). After an MOT, I check out the usual places and their end of month discounts etc and from experience choose.
