1.6 petrol parasitic drain, fuse 20

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am currently tracing a parasitic drain in my Fabia MK2.

Ammeter shows a drain of 159mA, which drops to 45mA when fuse 20 (r/h drive - 4th fuse in from the right, on the top row, on the smaller micro fuses) is pulled.

My research suggests this fuse is one of many ECU fuses.

Is there anyone that confirm that the fuse is for the ECU and help point me in the right direct of what part of the ecu it may connect to?

Thanks for your help

EDIT - Car is a 2008 fabia 3 mk2, 1.6 petrol, automatic.

Hi all,

Further investigation lead me to a relay that was shorted.

Replacement of the relay has solved the problem and bought the drain down to 35mA, which is within acceptable limits.

Hope this form helps someone else out in the future.

Thanks all.

Hi,

I believe I have the same problem - taking out fuse 20 drops the drain on the battery. My car is a 2008 Fabia 1.4TDI.

Moztune, do you remember which relay was shorted?

Cheers.
