Help to understand ETKA data

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have try to find what is the part number of the coil spring of my 1.6 MPI MK2 Octy but I have found some data in ETKA not clear to me.

I have opened this page: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2005-419/5/511-511000/ but it contains 22 part numbers.

Here are the thinks I would like to understand:

  • Does this: D >> - 05.02.2006 means the car is older then 05.02.2006 and D - 05.02.2006 >> means younger?
  • What are these 1 white or 1 white 2 yellow and so on paint marks means?
  • In RS: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2005-419/5/511-511030/#1 the paint marks are the same but the data models are different. How to identify my cars data model?
  • Extra question: What does this mean: F >> 1Z-6A151 261?

Thanks in advance

D>>date means cars built until this date.

D - date>> means cars built from this date onwards.

Genuine springs don't have part numbers marked on them; instead they have spots of paint of different colours in left-to-right sequence. Give your springs a wipe to clean them and you should see these paint marks.

F >> means for cars up to the given chassis number. Chassis number as shown here is derived from the VIN by replacing the character after 1Z with a dash (-); having discarded all the characters before 1Z.

Part  numbers where it says "see illustration...." are shown on a different page. In this case here https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2005-419/5/505-505005/

See how the last bit of that link looks like the numbers given in the "see illustration..."?

Hi Wino,

Thanks for the explanation. It was really helpful to me. So thanks again.

One last thing. Does this paint marks define the behaviour of the spring coil. I mean there should be a different coil in the 1.6 petrol and in the 2.0 TDI cars.

This could be on other topic question but I am thinking of change the coils to the RS coils to lower a car a bit. Is it feasible? If yes then how to choose the right spring coil?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry I have duplicated replies :)

In ETKA I have found front and rear shock absorbers for for vehicles with lowered running gear. What does it mean? Was that possible to order as an extra? Is it lower than RS? Does this lowers vehicles differs only in height?

Thanks
