DIY left trunk panel removed

Featured Replies

Hello, in my Superb I noticed that torch is not firmly fixed. Therefore I decided to remove plastic panel to check the reason for that.

I thought that this will be easy job, but I was mistaken.

First the plastic from C pillar need be removed. Simply pull it off.

Than 8 bolts need to be found. 4 of them are located behind hooks (bellow is photo which shows locations). To remove 3 small hooks (marked 3,5,7 on photo) the hook need be pushed inside and than lift. This will expose bolt.

Here are marked all bolts which need be found and unscrew in order to remove panel. Green lines are marking where the panel need be hooked when assemble it back. Be careful not to broke the pins.

Here are the close up of bolt locations.

BUT, before to completely unscrew all bolts, part of the seat need be removed. Under the sitting part is 1 M6 nut to remove. And while You are there unscrew also safety belt. The belt need be feed through slot of the panel to remove it totally.

Here is continuation of the topic (too many pics which were not resized).

After the M6 nut is removed lift seat part over and strongly push inside. Lower part of this "seat kidney" will be free. Than simply push up and take out this part. Here is photo of rear side with marked fixers.

And here are places in the car where part of seat is fixed.

I need to glue some part of the panel to prevent torch to move.

This is final result after putting back together.

There's no need to remove the seat belt.

What You mean? How do You take plastic panel totally out if seat belt is not removed. My car have slot (see my second photo) through which seat belt need go.

Rereading what you posted I see what you're getting at: if you want to completely remove the panels from the car then yes you would need to undo the seatbelt anchor. But there is no need to do this if you just want to pop the trim off to get access behind it, just leave it hanging off the belt inside the car.
