Front seat height adjusters

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to the Fabia and Skoda as a brand.

We bought a 2017 fabia 1.2 about a month ago and I noticed a problem with the seat adjusters on both the driver and passenger sides.

The drivers adjustment has gotten stuck on one occasion but after I got out of the car and adjusted it without my weight on it (about 75-80kg) it would work fine. Now the passenger seat is doing the same. It moves about a half crank of the adjuster up and down but no further. Once you reach that 1 crank it just stops and won't move any further in that direction. The lever feels very fragile so I am afraid to use too much force on it. Is this a common issue? How can I fix it?

Thanks

On mine you have to pump the lever up/down using several short strokes.

Up and back to the middle,

Up and back to the middle,

Up and back to the middle,

For up and:-

Down and back to the middle.

Down and back to the middle.

Down and back to the middle.

For down.

The problem is it is going about 1/2 to 1 of those small strokes in either direction and then getting stuck. I pump it down 1 stroke and it stops. I put it back to the middle and try to pump down it moves nowhere. I pump it up 1 stroke and it stops. I put it back to the middle and try to pump up and it moves nowhere.

But it does move OK with no weight on the seat?

Thanks AG Falco

The seats probably were never moved before, or haven't moved fora very long time, ask the dealer if they can lubricate them, perhaps some sticky drink or something had previously been spilled and gummed up the mechanism.
