Tdi Service Schedule

Featured Replies

I’m new to all this on line service schedule I need a service book I want to know when things are due.

My MkII was bad enough the service now light always came on when I was just about to do 2000 miles on holiday.

In the end I just serviced every 12 months and did cam belts etc when they were due or before to suit me but at least there is a service schedule with the car.

I now have a 2.0 Tdi 140 DSG and I’ve tried searching for the service schedule without success

Could anyone please point me in the right direction to get the information that I want.

I spend a lot of time in France and my old car was serviced in France or UK depending where I was when it was due, I can’t plan servicing without the dealers computer telling me to come in. Once it’s out of warranty I’ll probably be using independents or diy depending on the job.

any help appreciate

Servicing has to be one of the most discussed ( and confusing ) topics on any VW Group forum.

Assuming the car has been serviced properly, if all you want to know when the next service is due, just go on to the infortainment system under CAR / settings / SERVICE

Cambelts etc is regarded as maintenance which is 'recommended'.

On the latest cars brake fluid in 'recommnded' 3yr after first registration and every 2yr there after.

Cambelt for UK cars is every 5yr or 100,000 miles - which ever comes first.  ( others will state different mileages that's because it's unclear. In general think of 20k miles per year for a belt change. It's just an approx figure - Skodo, VW. Audi , SEAT all quote different figures for the same engine so even VW Group are confused themselves)

Change the DSG oil every 4yr.

You have two types of service regime - long life ( variable ) and fixed. It all depends on what service regime your car has been set for / what service schedule you want. There's plenty of information if you search the forum but if you want the short answer - long life is a major service every 2yr or 20,000 miles ( whichever comes first ) whereas fixed alternates between minor service ( an ol change ) and major and occurs every  12mth or 10,000 miles ( which ever comes first ).

If it's a garage that does the work, then can't think of anything else you need to know.
