Hi all, im a new owner of a 62 plate Monte Carlo which is fitted with a swing head unit. The head unit doesn’t say it has Bluetooth on it but I can connect to it for audio playback and phonecalls. Does that mean if I want to upgrade to an RNS315 I can get one without Bluetooth as my car has a Bluetooth module fitted or do I still need a 315 with Bluetooth? Would getting one with bluetooth cause connectivity issues?

 

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Alternatively would an RNS310 just be a straight swap?

look under the passenger seat, if the factory fitted bluetooth is there (sounds like it is) you should see it.

 

So any RNS 310 / 315 or 510 will work.

thanks for the reply. I don’t have any obvious wiring under the passenger seat. Is it possible my swing H/U has Bluetooth? I’ll try to pull it out Over the weekend and see what the stickers say. 

No swing unit had bluetooth.

 

The Bluetooth module is under the front passenger seat. Move the seat fully forward and up (if it has height adjustment) you may see it, or atleast the bracket that holds it / wiring loom.
