Estelle/Rapid -replacement rubbers -sourcing.

Featured Replies

Hi all and thanks in advance.

I am looking to replace all the rubbers on the bottom half of a 1.3 Skoda Rapid (i.e. trailing arm bushes, crossmembers, boots/gaiters, steering rack boots/ clamp rubbers)

Can anyone advise if it is :

A. Possible to source these parts and if so from where ?

B. Are any of the rubbers generic and sourceable from a motor factors for instance ?

C. Can other Skoda models (Felicia, Favorit) be a source for steering rack or any other bits ?

D. Are poly bush kits available?

E. What are peoples recommendations ?

Try skoda parts and or oem bushes manufacturers to see if something oem from a different brand fits

Also talk to poly bush companies as most of them will make custom parts but make sure to not go too stiff especially if you want the car to be comfortable.

A mixture of good quality rubber and some poly elements will be your best bet

Just to add don't do what I did and fit trailing arm swing arm bushes. The semi-trailing ones are more rigid with a metal strengthener in the rubber. This results in too much negative rear camber so tyres wear. I did not even realise there were two different types until I held both side by side.

Hi Ambrose89 I can't message you directly but I could really do with some help, I've got a estelle 130 lse that I'd like to put a low mile felicia 1.3 mpi in, I saw you asking very similar in another post way back,

can I be done easily?

Please could you tell me what needs doing I'd really appreciate it,

Does the crank need machining or is it like the old favorit engine where it's a straight swap?

Does the engine just bolt in to stock mounts?

What carb did or are you still running it on please?

Or can I use my 130 inlet, carb and ex mani?

Or did you get the ecu from felicia to keep the injection?

Does the felly engine mate up with the estelle fly, box n starter without issue?

I'd seriously appreciate any help!

Many thanks
