Front strut brace

Featured Replies

So are they worth getting? I have seen one from russia on ebay but not really any others. Anybody using one and does it make a worthwhile improvement? Thanks Garry

Will tell you when mine arrives. Strut brace UK are the people to go to but I suspect they will be busy for a while as mine is coming from a group buy that took about 60 orders and they are being made now. They are good vfm.

subtle improvement when cornering on bumpy surface - less chatter through the steering wheel

much more noticeable cornering improvement from upgrading your anti-rollbars

Hi SashaGrace. Just looking at old posts on front strut braces and I spotted yours. Did you get that brace from Strut Brace UK and how was the quality of the item. Did you also feel any slight difference in handling afterwards, or was it bought for cosmetic effect only.

I did and it was fabulous. I felt it made a difference, stiffened the car up nicely but it can be frustrating as the bars are made to order in mainland Europe and shipped in batches so it is a long lead time. Glad I got one though, finished my car off for sure :)

I can't find Strut Brace UK online, do they have a webpage?

The only place I could find them was on Facebook. They did reply to my message quite fast. Quoted £95 for the brace. Here is a bit more info if you need it. Tel number-- 07973746353   [email protected]. I notice they go underneath the scuttle panel out of sight. So if they don't slightly improve handling, you can't really see it for cosmetic effect either.

Great photos. So to get the scuttle off, you take out the metal clips at the front, take off the wipers and then does the scuttle just pull away from the windscreen?

That’s it. If you have heated screen and washer keys, don’t forget the wires for that feature on the scuttle.

No heated screen I am afraid. Forgive me but what are washer "keys"?

Happens to me as well, bloody autocorrect. Just ordered one and told it may take 4 to 5 weeks. Thanks for your, as usual, very informative info on the subject.

I went for a yellow one, to be a little less discrete. Matches the other small yellow bits under the bonnet too

No colour was specified, so I assume mine will be black.

Just to update. The brace was black. After having to use a small round metal file on one of the bolt holes on the brace that did not quite line up, it fitted on easy. The hardest part was getting the wiper arms off. The first wiper arm puller I bought on ebay, broke when trying to pull off the wiper arms. So I bought a better quality one from my local car parts shop that did the job okay.
