Considering buying a 2017 / 2018 petrol VRS
Mine's a 2017 facelift 230. Had it since end of 2019 and it's been super reliable and a brilliant car. Modified it a fair bit since too. Looking to sell it in November as it'll be 3 years then and I fancy an auto/DSG next. Only thing that has given any issue were a set of buckled wheels when I bought it, worn wheel bearing and leaking thermostat - all fixed under warranty. Then usual stuff like brake pads and tyres - but all worn properly, no quirks.

Correct wheel size
On a face-lift. I now have 19 x 8.5j et45 with 235 35 19 and its as close as I'd like to get. 2 deg negative camber too and its OK. Think that's the limit really with no real messing around.

My new 2019 Octavia VRS 245.
Ride is definitely better on 18s. think for the OEM wheels the gemini look better anyway

My new 2019 Octavia VRS 245.
That's a 245? Don't the 245's come with the 19" extremes? Decent matching tyres all round and the all clear on the common leaking thermostat and you're good to go! enjoy. Great colour choice. Don't get too carried away with mods like me 😆

Clutch slipping? Skoda warranty…
not a chance

Removing stock manual shifter knob guide
Good guide. I was lucky and found a 2nd hand gaiter and trim for 8 quid on eBAY so got to keep my OEM setup in tact and in the loft. I went for a raceseng from the states

Advice on buying a mk3 vrs
Mine had to be a TSi facelift with winter pack and not leather seats, in any colour but black or grey. Preferred a blue or red but ended up with a white hatchback, from Glasgow with the winter pack and alcantara seats. The winter pack is well worth holding out for in my opinion. Main things to look for, in my experience, even with a Skoda dealership - water pump/thermostat housing leaks, buckled wheels, noisy wheel bearings. The rest is cheap to sort and they're pretty solid and uncomplicated cars.

vRS Fog Light Trim
Mines flaking too on one side. thinking to wrap it instead, When you say slide towards front of car, what do you mean?

To fit a good quality intercooler, or not?
I've had an airtec fitted. The difference in size and weight between OEM and the Airtec is massive! I did get heat soak a couple of times at oulton so that was that, larger cooler was needed. Expensive part really and expensive labour to fit! Was it worth it? Not sure, but sure it's better for the car so all good.

Fitting Powerflex Diesel (Red) engine mount insert this weekend.
This one. It's just £25 from Awesome Gti/Ebay etc. Best to get a replacement bolt from Skoda/VW too as they're stretch bolts.

Fitting Powerflex Diesel (Red) engine mount insert this weekend.
I've had the yellow in my TSi and took it out as on a hot day with the AC on it made the car rattle like mad. Wasn't terrible but for the price I thought I'd try the red diesel one. It's much better.

Racingline Remap
My 2017 VRs 230 TSi was done by Awesome GTi on Racingline software. Was there for 3 hours I think! So they don't just flash it at Awesome. All good so far apart from needing a new clutch 4 months later.

Octavia vrs tsi rear caliper
if they're the 272mm ones I'll be taking mine off soon. dust seals are cheap as chips though, get them from Bremtech or big red
