I see that new sensors have to be 'adapted' to the ecu but I read it's a one shot deal, anyone know why?

 

Would it be possible to remove a sensor, adapt another one, and then re-adapt the original one?

I've changed the DPF differential pressure sensor, all coded, no issues, I'm just curious why its a one shot deal and whether that could be got around using another sensor as I described.
