Octavia auto wipers

Featured Replies

Following a thread in the New Octavia forum does anybody know if Vag Com can be used to disable the auto wipers.

If it can I will probably buy it just to get rid of this hopeless function

I'm confused. What do you mean by auto wipers?

We don't get Octavias on this side of the pond, but in the cars that we do get, you can disable the auto-wipring function (in response to the rain sensor) by putting the wiper stalk in the OFF position.

Yes that turns the wipers off completely.

I want to turn the rain sensitive function off and just have normal manual wipers.

I suppose you could try coding out the Rain/Light sensor; should be Byte 00 Bit 6 in the Central Electic system's Long Coding (Select -> 09-Cent. Elect. -> Long Coding -> Long Coding Helper).

Question is why you want to turn it off? If you arte experiencing issues with your RLS (Rain/Light Sensor) please tell us the part number of the currently installed sensor - there had been issues with older sensors so the old ones usually get replaced if the customer complains.
