In theory it might be so but I've done these things from time to time and usually bad things happen ONLY in wintertime when there's snow (probably not the usual case for the forum readers). Usually tyres has good enough grip and I'm not much into very, very expensive premium tyres (not buying cheap ones, though). Actually, this could be true on roads with high speeds.

Ok, whatever. I guess that no-one from us is going to convince another one :)  Let's allow other ones to speak :)

I thought as you did re tyres but when you look in to it best tyres to the rear is correct. The simplest way to explain it is front wheel under steer controllable easily by most semi competent drivers, the back end breaking away leading to rear wheel over steer not so much.

UPDATE:

- I decided to leave at the back the worn tyres. Both have more than 5mm tread depth, so it should be OK.

- New tyres were the Michelin Primacy 4 which were installed on the front.

I'm planning to let front tyres to wear out at least 1y and then I'll do the swapping. I will do it for sure!

Definitely, best decision is safety. This basically means installing the best tyres at the rear. Front wheels can be corrected by steering, with the rear ones you don't have that option. I found this interesting video:
