DSG shudder after negotiating flood

Featured Replies

Morning all, drove 100 miles home in torrential rain yesterday, including through some floods. None of the floods were beyond most cars, just a few pulled over with problems. On a couple of occasions I suffered bad clutch judder just after, both in full automatic and in manual mode. Does anyone else have experience of this, and most importantly, any nasty consequences?

I presume you have a petrol with the dry clutch? It may have got wet and hence the shudder. Hopefully will dry out and be ok. A diesel with its wet clutch dog submerged in the gearbox oil is sealed and could not be affected like this?
