Fuel level indicator

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

So I have my Octavia 4 for 6-7 weeks now and there are a few annoying things but I want to ask about one of them.

I noticed that the fuel level indicator (on the right of the virtual cockpit) is very inaccurate. I know that the fuel tank is 45L and at one point I poured 30L petrol at the gas station but the indicator was showing that I have half a tank. And generally I drive for like 100 miles and the indicator still shows a full tank.

Have anyone else noticed something like that?

Best regards,

Martin

Welcome to the forum.

It is a 'Simply Clever' characteristic that Skoda / VW Group have featured in various models over the years.

It is just there to keep you on the ball.

If you ask at a Dealership likely they have 'Never heard of it before', or 'They all do that.'

Best put in writing to Skoda UK or whoever that you have this 'factory fit feature'.

Yes, I kinda noticed it before with my Octavia 3, but here it's much worse I feel. Anyway. I guess it's "normal" then. :)

Just follow you range. I have never really relied on that indicator. For me it is accurate enough. Either way I never allow it to go below 1/2.

Only accurate measure is when the fuel light comes on and it tells you there is X litres left, it is usually about 15% of the full tank capacity so about 7 litres in the later Octys.

One can often drive 20, 30 Kms or more beyond zero computer range but that is a risk of course !

By the way, how do you know that yours is 45 and not 50?
