Columbus Repair

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a late columbus head unit, part number 3T0 035 686 N, hardware version H27 and running original factory firmware V6276.

Its never been messed around with other than upgrading the maps. But has just developed the dreaded boot cycle fault.

Keeps trying to boot but then pauses on the Skoda splash screen before trying again. Use the car again after leaving it for a few hours and it may work, but more often than not it wont start.

So is this most likely a software issue for which a simple reinstall of the firmware V6726 will fix it?

Or is it more likely hardware? Thinking SSD because when it boots successfully it works fine. If so any recommendations on where i can send it for a turn around repair?

If it cant be repaired what is the best unit to go for that will integrate with the reset of the vehicle electronics?

Originally posted in Superb Mk2 forum, but probably better placed here as this unit it fitted to numerous models.

Many thanks

Dan
