Octavia 2018 FL Rear USB Retrofit using OEM Part

Recommended Posts

Hi all, new to the forum but just from reading a few posts feel like i'm going to love it here!

After a bit of help with a retrofit of a Rear USB OEM Part (5QD 035 726 L). I'm looking to replace the back of the center console with the relevant mounting hardware using various bits from here https://www.skoda-parts.com/catalog/octavia-3/spare-parts/body/car-interior/gearshift-console/central-panel-433.html

Trouble here being that i don't understand where the white ends of the below cable connects into on the Octavia! Can anyone assist?

I used the Kufatec loom to fit USB hub 5Q0 035 726 L, with two cables - connecting to the fusebox and the earth point in passenger footwell

I've not seen your cable before. It looks like it is meant to piggyback on another connection to share power/earth. Not sure if that is going to be the front USB port or one of the buttons in the centre console? The loom doesn't look long enough to reach radio/fusebox or elsewhere in the dashboard. Might not be applicable for the Octavia, of course.

Thanks Simion_levi. That image of the product you linked may give me all I require as I would assume amongst the pins would be a positive and a ground. I'm sure I would be able to then run some adequate wire up to a Fuse spur and take a feed from there

I am also interested if this can be possible to connect on car oem instalation.

Does anyone know if there is pre wiring for rear usb?

I did have a look about on mine last night without moving too much trim but couldn't see anything. As Simion says it may be fed off the 12v socket further up the center console. If anyone has images of what that power connector looks like I would be interested in seeing it
