USB Hub for 2-in-1 Android Auto/Apple CarPlay usage?

Featured Replies

Hey!

I have an Android phone, my wife has an iPhone. We both love the technologies, but are limited to a 2 usb ports in the Superb (1 in the armrest box, 1 under the multimedia). I am wondering if there is a usb-hub or 2-in-1 usb cable that is capable of a proper data transfer and Skoda USB support, so I can use 2 cables/connectors only in one of the Superb USB ports?

I've tried the Anker USB-hub (from Amazon), but it doesn't work - multimedia sees the Android phone, but fails to launch Android Auto.

Maybe someone here knows any success models?

Thanks

I played around with this a few years ago and concluded the MIB OS supports/recognises only one device per port..

You'll need a VW/Skoda USB hub, an extra USB socket, some wiring and finally coding to get this working.

Once done, you can have both devices connected and choose between them. Might be worth asking @pab567 as it's something he has done previously although on a different MIB headunit:

Am I being a bit dense here. But isn't the head unit limited to supporting one device at a time? So even if you do connect both you'll only be able to use one?

Sorry just trying to understand the problem you're trying to solve?

I don't care to have only 1 at a time working, I'm trying to find a solution to use only one USB port for that, w/o a need to change the wires. We rarely connect 2 phones at the same time.
