G62 sender problem

Featured Replies

My code reader says I've got an implausible reading from my coolant temperature sender G62. Where is this sensor? There's appears to be 2 on the coolant inlet outlet at the engine block and one on the radiator. Also, just in case it's a wiring problem, anyone know where the ECU is ?

Do a search mate it crops up a lot at the moment.

The dual temperature sender is on the right hand side of the 1.8T engine under some piping. You will need to remove both plastic covers on top of the engine to get at it. The sender and release clip are just to the right of the thumb in the photo. Pull the horseshoe shaped clip to the left to release the sender.

The engine ECU is under the plastic scuttle panel in the centre of the windscreen.

Thanks for the help.

If you are replacing the part on your own, mind

that you check the rubber seal ring! (I didnt, costed me

a few liters of cooling water after a loud SISHHH and smoke...)

Thanks Snoetje

What was the problem with your rubber sealing ring. Mine sealing ring seems ok. However, temperature gauge working intermittently only. Think it's the 4 pin connector that fits onto the sender. When the temp gauge isn't working the cooling fan stays on all the time and the engine runs cool. Anyone else had to replace the connector? Suppose it's a dealer part.

Good morning to everybody.

vag com say that G62 sensor is short or to plus intermittent on my Octavia TDI 81 Kw.

Now, two questions: where is on my car, and why the car is running very well, no problem at all and right temperature on onboard instrument?

Thanks!
