Missing Handbrake cable cover

Featured Replies

I have bought a Fabia Estate 2012 from a forecourt and the plastic handbrake cable cover is missing.

Is this a sign of a bigger problem and if not where can you get a handbrake cable cover.

The cover is behind the handbrake itself where the rear cables are.

Any advice help much appreciated

I am assuming you mean the square hole behind the handbrake, if so its not a cover its a little stowage tray.

Only 2 reasons its missing...............

removed to adjust handbrake and the idiot forgot to put it back..............OR

it had an armrest fitted and it was removed by the previous owner or the dealer.

If its a grey dash / console then this is what you need........

Be careful if you look on ebay, some people are charging 10x what they cost new for used parts.

Thank you for this feedback

and correcting my assumption.

It appears that the handbrake failed MOT for reserve travel in 2019 which I assume due to too tight.Ie a few clicks before the handbrake is upright.

It passed 5 days after but I am wondering whether this tray was removed to adjust brake to pass Mot or if the tray restricts movement.

The brake seems fine now and appears to have the average clicks for a secured function.

I have ordered the tray and curious if It will effect any difference.

it would only affect it if there was an underlying fault as its meant to be there, in a car without a centre armrest.
