Winter wheels from a 2016 on a 2013 model?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, have a 2013 Superb on 18” wheels. My dad has just upgraded his 2016 to a Kodiac and has a set of winter tyres on steelies from his Superb left over. They are 16” and he used them on his Superb which was running 17” in the summer.

Apparently they won’t fit on his Kodiac so he’s offered them to me, but will they fit my car (normally running 18”)?

Assume brake clearance is a potential issue?

TIA

There is so much info not given on the wheels / tyre sizes.

To see if the wheels fit over the Calipers why not try putting a wheel on?

Measure the Wheels / Tyres on offer next to the ones on your car before trying to fit the wheel.

Sorry details are vague as the winter wheels are in Germany :)

Unless your Superb has the 3.6 V6 engine, or has been fitted with the bigger brakes from that model, you shouldn't run into brake clearance issues.

What you will need to check out is the offset on those 16s and whether this is suitable for your car or not.

No, both my car and the ‘donor’ car are 2 litre diesels.

thank you!

Hi Beak, try Googling 'will they fit' - the calculator on that website will give you all the answers you need. The first thing you will need to match is the pitch-circle diameter (PCD) of the wheel bolts.

If your dad's car is a SIII the wheels will fit onto yours, but the tyres are specced up on the SIII compared to the SII.

SII summer is 225/40-18 and winter 205/55-16, SIII is 235 and winter 215 on 17" wheels.
