I'm an owner of a New Octavia Stlye 2.0 TDI DSG (not equiped with Auxiliary heater) and while doing a web research of available features i came allong with option of "Remote Ventiation" as seen in the link https://www.skoda-auto.com/world/skoda-connect under section Care Connect: Remote access. it says that the feature is available exclusively for new Octavia, not stating that it needs to be iV version (e.g remote A/C)  or equiped with auxiliary heater (remote heating).

 

Does anyone know if remote ventilation should work or not? If yes, how???

Do you have the Skoda Connect App installed on your mobile phone and connected to your car?

It is free for the first 12 months, then is chargeable thereafter (at least here in the UK).

 

Once downloaded, registered and linked to your vehicle you should be able to see the available functions and features available to you and your Octavia - hopefully including the new "Remote Ventilation".

I do have skoda connect app and am registered, but that feature is not among others in the app thats why i ma wondering if that work on "normal" style package octavia without auxiliary heating (webasto). 

 

 

I'm pretty sure that this feature will be available across all models, with or without the auxiliary heating.

 

It appears to be similar in operation to the 'REST' function from other Skoda models whereby the fans are able to run without the ignition turned on and with the car locked / unoccupied, the idea being that the interior fan continues to circulate warm air from the engine into the interior whilst you're away. It only lasts for so long i.e. for as long as the water in the heater matrix is sufficiently warm and the battery has enough charge.

 

I'd imagine the 'Remote Ventilation' works in a similar way, it simply turns on the interior fan and recirculates the internal and external air. It won't utilise the air conditioning as this requires the engine to be running.

 

This feature is available from other manufacturers and opinion varies. I guess in hot climates it's success will depend on the difference between the external and interior temperatures i.e. them being different enough to make a difference.

 

I quite like the ability to lower all of the windows and open the sunroof (where fitted) with a long press of the unlock button when approaching the car. This is the fastest way to cool down the interior without the engine running.

 

If the feature isn't showing on your App then I suspect it might still be in development or reserved for certain (higher?) specifications. Might be worth giving the dealer a quick call?

does the online version say your verified? I had this with the app and had to take them my drivers licence for them to send to skoda to activate the different things, all though im now verified nothing still works lol i cant unlock or open windows via app

I am verified, when i received the car the sales person did the verification. 

 

I can use tools such as lock/unlock, honk and blink. There is no option for opening the windows by the app. 

 

Or is there anything else to be verified. Will ask again at the store and will report back here.

thats all i had to do with being verified, with my app i cant even lock and unlock the car lol

I had before light and honk but now, i dont have. I also hear that vents need to be enabled. Lock/unlock is working.

 

Mybe new skoda bug.

I had service few days ago and they upgrade car to the new software. 

I'd guess the ventilation might need auxiliary heater as well. 

 

Can you set a departure schedule from car? If you can, then it should work. If not, then i guess you dont have it.

i did not see departure function. where is should be?

No I have the ventilation feature, but does not have the auxiliary heater.

Yes without aux heater.

 

Have the option in the app here too without the aux heater. Never tried it, guess it will just pump warm outside air in the vehicle?

It just uses the fan like you would without AC. Nice option to pre cool the car if its sitting in the sun etc.

It looks like I am late to the party. I have auxiliary heater in my car and app but no ventilation option either my skoda app or my skoda essential app.
