Superb L@K 190 TDi vs SE-L Executive 280 TSi

Featured Replies

So been looking at Octavia VRS for a while but then someone mentioned Superbs to me.

They have now come onto my radar, and looking at the 4x4 option as we get a lot of snow at times here!

I was just going to go for the TDi but as COVID has made me work from home a lot, I am wondering about the TSi.

What sort of MPG do people get out of the 280?

And is there much difference in spec between the SE-L Executive and the L@K?

Summer 32-36 Mpg rural shortish journeys. 40 Mpg motorways. If you get the L&K you get a fair few options as standard. The more I drive mine,  DCC seems a brilliant option. In sport mode the handling and steering feel is very good on A and B roads in comparison to a more floaty understeering feeling in normal mode. If I was driving high mileage on a budget I'd obviously get a TDI.

I've just swapped from a 4x4 Superb 190 TDI Sportline to a Superb L&K IV (battery plus 1.4 Petrol with 150 BHP - total of 218BHP with battery running).

The new Iv will never be a match for any non-hybrid high power diesel or petrol because you can only use the full power of the hybrid whilst there is still battery power left, which will run out on a long journey (anything over 100 miles).

The solution might be to Sportline like the one I've just sold - low mileage a year old this car is good value from the right place - mine is up for sale for £22k at my dealer

So, went and looked at a 2016 280 today and took for a test drive. Wow it goes really well!

I'm just surprised by the strange spec. Do all SE-L Executive spec not have front parking sensors and still use a key?

They're not deal breakers I'm just checking, as the rest of the car is high spec.
